Lesson Summary

 

     I​n this chapter students will learn about the causes and effects of a warming planet by learning about greenhouse gases from human activities like burning fossil fuels. The disruptive activity caused by humans lead to extreme weather, sea-level rising, and loss of biodiverse ecosystems. This will encourage them to analyze local and global evidence to understand the science and socioeconomic impacts.

  1. How am I and the people around me affected by climate change? How can I spread awareness? 

  2. How does energy production lead to an increase of greenhouse gases? In what ways does climate change threaten our jobs and communities? 

  3. What are some ways we can improve the current state of the climate?

  4. Why has atmospheric carbon emissions increased 40% since pre industrial times? 

  5. How are global temperatures affected by carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions?​​​​

Students will be able to...

  • Engage in critical discussions and problem-solving to improve battery design through iterative testing and analysis. 

  • Incorporate unique approaches and ideas on prototype development.
